Vision Assessments for Optimal Clarity and Eye Health

At our practice, a thorough eye exam encompasses a series of tests and evaluations aimed at both your eye health and the clarity of your vision. These assessments range from straightforward tests like reading an eye chart to more advanced examinations using cutting-edge digital retinal imaging technology to ensure the wellness of your retinas.

Our team of eye care experts strongly advises annual comprehensive eye exams. These examinations help identify potential eye conditions that could pose risks and help monitor any alterations in your vision, allowing us to update your prescription accordingly. At Eason Eye Care, we’re ready to safeguard your eye health and visual acuity.

Eye Care for Young and Old

How Often Should You See The Optometrist?

At Eason Eye Care, we agree with the American Optometric Association's (AOA) recommendation of an annual eye exam for all patients, including those who wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. Even if you enjoy clear vision without correction, we emphasize the importance of an annual eye exam. For individuals with specific health conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, our doctor may suggest more frequent examinations, as these conditions can impact both vision and eye health.

As we age, the risk of eye disease naturally increases. Therefore, we advise everyone over 60 to undergo annual eye examinations.

For those aged 40 and over, we encourage eye exams every one to two years. This proactive approach helps detect and manage age-related eye issues such as presbyopia, cataracts, and macular degeneration, ensuring visual well-being at every stage of life.

Pediatric Eye Exams

At Eason Eye Care, while we don't currently provide comprehensive eye exams for children aged five and under, we want to ensure you have the information you need. If you have any queries about requesting an exam for your child approaching school age, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Statistics suggest that approximately 25% of school-aged children may encounter vision issues. According to guidance from the American Optometric Association (AOA), all children should undergo eye exams at six months, again at age three, and once more at the beginning of their schooling. The AOA advises annual eye exams for children without vision concerns or risk factors throughout their school years.

Children with pre-existing vision concerns or risk factors should consider more frequent eye examinations. Common risk factors include premature birth, developmental delays, crossed or turned eyes, a family history of eye conditions, a history of eye injuries, or other underlying health issues.

The AOA suggests that children wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses should have their eyes examined at least annually or per their optometrist’s guidance.
